Lemon balm is used to calm the nervous system,reduce anxiety,aid with digestion especially when flatulence is present. It can improve appetite. It has a mild hypotensive effect. Lemon balm calms the gut- brain axis and protects neurons from oxidative damage. It is useful for HSV 1 & 2 as well as shingles and chickenpox.
